Douglas R. Cubbison is a 1980 Distinguished Military Graduate and Cum Laude History Graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has six years of active duty and ten years active reserves experience as a field artillery officer in the U.S. Army, leaving the Army as a major. Since 1971, Mr. Cubbison has been active in living history events from the French and Indian War through Civil War. He has previously served as the president and majority owner of White Star Consulting, a historic preservation and interpretation firm, and as cultural resources manager for the US Military Academy, West Point, New York. He is currently employed as the command historian for the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. He has previously published one book, two monographs, and numerous professional journal articles on topics including military, social and transportation history from the American Revolution through World War II.
