Right Click the Internet Explorer Icon and drag down to Properties and
Left click your mouse
Under the General Tab
In Address: type in "http://www.catskill.net"
Click the Connection Tab
Choose Connect
Click Next>
Choose I want to set up a new connection on this computer to my existing
Internet account using my phone line or a local are network [LAN].
Click Next>
Choose Connect using my phone line
Click Next>
Windows may prompt you to install files and drivers needed to connect to
the Internet
Get your Windows 95 CD-Rom or Disks ready and Click OK to Continue
You may get a message stating Please insert the disk labeled 'Windows 95
CD-ROM' and then click OK
Put your CD-ROM in the CD-ROM Drive and click OK
Your computer should start copying files from your CD to your computer now
This may take some time
Choose Create a new dial-up connection
Click Next>
Put your Area code in the Area Code: box
Enter your Access number {Without the Area Code}from the list at left in
the Telephone number: box
Click Next>
In User name: enter the username you provided us
In Password: enter the password you provided us
Click Next>
You should now be questioned about choosing Advanced Settings
Select Yes and then Click Next>
Select PPP (Point to Point Protocol)
Click Next>
Select I don't need to type anything when logging on
Click Next>
You should now have IP Address selection box
Select My Internet service provider automatically assigns me one.
Click Next>
You should now have DNS Server Address selection box
Choose Always use the following:
In DNS server: type in 205.232.248.5 then hit the TAB key on the keyboard
In Alternate DNS server: type in 205.232.250.2
Click Next>
Under Connection name: Type in "Catskill On Line"
Click Next>
YOU HAVE NOW COMPLETED THE DIAL-UP NETWORKING PORTION OF CONNECTING
To set up your email for Internet Explorer Select Yes
Click Next>
Select Create a new Internet mail account
Click Next>
In Display name: type in your real Name
Click Next>
In Email address: type in your email address {username@catskill.net}
Click Next>
In My incoming mail server is a ____ choose POP3
In Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: Type in catskill.net
In Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: Type in catskill.net
Click Next>
Select Log on using:
In POP account name: type in your username then hit the TAB key on
your keyboard
In Password: type in your password
Click Next>
Under Internet mail account name: type COL Mail
Click Next>
YOU HAVE NOW COMPLETED THE E-MAIL PORTION OF CONNECTING
To set up your Internet new groups account
Under Setup Your Internet News Account Select Yes
Click Next>
In Display name: type in your real name
Click Next>
In E-mail address: type in your email address {username@catskill.net}
Click Next>
In News (NNTP) server: type in news.catskill.net
Make certain the My news server requires me to log on is not checked
Click Next>
Under Internet news account name: type COL NEWS
Click Next>
YOU HAVE NOW COMPLETED THE NEWSGROUPS PORTION OF CONNECTING
WE currently do not support LDAP accounts
Under do you want to set up your Internet directory service account select
No
Click Next>
Click Finish
Your Computer should now tell you that you have to restart your computer
Click Yes
