After the problem was resolved, we reviewed our existing network and decided to deploy three separate servers. Each has two functions, acting as a primary server for specific tasks and as a backup for certain services. This redundant protection will help to ensure that even with multiple, though doubtful, hard drive failures, Catskill On Line services will continue and your data (i.e. e-mail, Web sites, etc.) will not be lost.

We have also doubled our "Up-stream" access capacity (pipes to the Internet) in Monticello and in Delhi. In Monticello, we have chosen a new carrier (AT&T) to provide us with our "Up-stream" access giving us two separate "Up-stream" providers.

Finally, Catskill On Line is preparing to become one of the few "Multi-Homed" ISPs in the area. In a few weeks, we will have two completely separate paths to access the Internet, either through AT&T or our existing "Up- stream" provider Applied Theory. Once we are "Multi- Homed", if one of our "Up-stream" providers experience a failure, you will automatically be routed through our other provider.
